Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 large bell pepper, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 can small English peas, drained
    1 large block Cheddar cheese, grated
    3 or 4 boiled eggs, chopped
    4 chicken breasts, boiled, deboned and finely chopped
Preparation
    Layer all the ingredients in a large glass Pyrex dish.
    Mix the same amount of mayonnaise and salad dressing, enough to cover the salad.
    Spread over the top.
    This is as pretty as it is good. You may also add a layer of chopped tomatoes; best in the summer when they are fresh.
