Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs, separated
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. plain flour
    1 c. Crisco
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream 1 cup Crisco with 2 1/4 cups of the sugar until creamy. Add egg yolks, then buttermilk, then flour, soda and salt.
    Beat until creamy.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff and add the remaining sugar.
    Beat until peaks form.
    Fold egg whites into cake batter.
    Pour in greased and floured tube pan and bake at 350\u00b0 in preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Do not open oven door before time is up or cake will fall!
