Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water (plain)
    2 c. strong vinegar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pour over cooked beets and boil 10 minutes.
    A little grated horseradish added to beets gives variety.
    (Wash beets well, cook, drain water from beets and use in place of plain water.)
    The color will be much enhanced.
