Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. nuts, crushed
    1 large pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Melt shortening and add brown sugar.
    Stir until well mixed.
    Allow to cool slightly.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
    Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate.
    Pour in greased 11 x 16-inch pan.
    Keep mixture approximately 3/4 inch in depth. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
