Plum Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Crisco
    3 c. granulated sugar
    4 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon
    2 c. milk (whole)
    2 Tbsp. soda
    2 c. raisins or dates
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cloves
Preparation
    Make muslin cloth 1 yard square.
    Combine Crisco, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, soda and eggs.
    Beat well.
    Add fruit and flour alternately.
    Put in center of cloth.
    Pull ends up and tie tightly.
    Place in 5 quarts boiling water in 10-quart kettle. Boil 3 hours.
    Remove pudding and sauce from kettle.
    Save broth for sauce.
