"Millie'S" James House Scones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. dried currants
1 Tbsp. finely grated orange rind
6 Tbsp. butter (slightly less than 1/3 c.)
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Stir in currants and orange rind.
Cut in butter until crumbly.
Add egg and milk.
Stir until dough clings together.
Knead gently 12 to 15 minutes on a lightly floured board.
Cut dough into fourths and form squares about 1/2 inch thick.
Cut each square diagonally twice to form 4 triangles. Place squares on a lightly greased baking sheet (or freeze for future baking).
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Yields 16 scones.
