Best Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. water
    1 c. salt
    1 gal. cucumbers, sliced
    allspice
    cloves
    stick cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix
    enough
    salt
    and
    water to cover.
    Wrap allspice, cloves and
    cinnamon in cheesecloth and place in each gallon. Let set
    4 days.
    Drain and soak in alum water 1 day (1 tablespoon
    alum
    to 1 quart of water).
    Drain, soak in 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water 1 day and drain.
    Mix syrup of 1 cup vinegar and 3
    cups
    sugar.
    Bring to a boil and pour over pickles.
    Bring to boil 4 mornings and pour in jars or big crock.
