Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (not margarine), softened
    4 c. plain flour
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix butter and sugar.
    Add flour and soda.
    Form into 2 logs. If too soft to work with, put in refrigerator for awhile.
    (You can mix chopped nuts, if desired.)
    Chill well before slicing about 1/3-inch thick. Bake at 350\u00b0 until slightly brown on ungreased cookie sheet. Do not overcook.
