Easy Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 lb. baking potatoes, thinly sliced and divided
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated (about 1 c.), divided
    2 small onions, thinly sliced, divided
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided
    2 Tbsp. flour, divided
    1 tsp. salt, divided
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme, divided
    1/4 tsp. pepper, divided
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Butter a 2-quart baking dish.
    Layer half the potatoes, 1/3 the cheese, half of the onions, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper;
    repeat layering with 1/3 potatoes, 1/3 cheese and remaining onions, butter, flour, salt, thyme and pepper. Place remaining potatoes on top.
    Pour milk over.
    Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    Cover and bake 45 minutes.
    Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender and liquid is almost absorbed, 20 minutes.
    Heat broiler.
    Broil until golden, 1 to 2 minutes. (Bake 1 hour and 7 minutes; ready to serve in 1 hour and 22 minutes.)
