Vanilla Custard For Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tall can evaporated milk
    4 c. homogenized milk
    3 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    3/4 c. raisins or 3/4 c. coconut
    3 egg whites (for meringue)
    5 Tbsp. sugar (for meringue)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, yolks and cornstarch.
    Gradually add all milk, while stirring.
    Cook in double boiler, on medium heat, until thick.
    Add vanilla.
    Add raisins or coconut.
    Pour into 2 medium cooked pie shells.
