Ripe Tomato Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    30 to 35 medium ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    7 medium onions, chopped fine
    1 head celery, chopped fine
    2 green peppers, chopped fine
    4 to 5 apples, peeled and chopped fine
    6 c. white vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. coarse salt
    1 c. mixed pickling spice (tied in cheesecloth bag)
Preparation
    Put tomatoes, onions, celery, peppers and apples in large pot. Add remaining ingredients; boil and simmer until thick.
    (You need to watch it when it starts to get thick, as it burns easily; stir often.)
    Store in clean, glass jars.
