Old Fashioned Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 1/2 lb.) cut up fryer
    1 stalk celery, cut up
    1 medium onion, quartered
    2 qt. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. butter, softened
    2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Place first 5 ingredients in Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until chicken is tender.
    Remove chicken, reserving broth in Dutch oven; discard vegetables.
    Cool chicken and bone and cut into bite size pieces. Refrigerate broth and chicken for 8 hours.
