German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    2 lb. bacon
    1 large onion
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/8 c. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until done (let cool).
    Fry bacon until crisp. Take out and drain.
    Pour off half the grease.
    Leave rest in skillet.
    Add salt, pepper, vinegar and sugar.
    Grate onion fine on potatoes and mix.
    Keep on warm burner until ready to serve.
