Custard Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    few grains salt
Preparation
    Heat milk, sugar and a few grains salt in top of double broiler.
    Beat egg yolks slightly; add some of the heated milk. Mix and pour back into remaining milk.
    Place over hot, not boiling water.
    Cook, stirring constantly until custard coats metal spoon. Remove at once; add vanilla and place pan in bowl of cold water. Stir occasionally until cool.
    Makes about 2 cups.
    Great over jello, pound cake, etc., for easy dessert.
