Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. Granny's molasses
Preparation

Mix together flour, sugar, shortening and salt until it forms crumbs and set it aside.
Save 1 cup of crumbs for topping.
Mix hot water, baking soda and molasses in a large bowl.
Blend in the remaining crumbs with the liquid.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
Sprinkle 1 cup of crumbs on top before baking.
Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Let it cool to cut.
