Aunt Sue'S Overnight Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, broken in small pieces
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 cucumber, sliced
    1 small red onion, thinly sliced
    1 c. frozen peas
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
    8 slices bacon, crumpled
    1 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer first six ingredients.
    Spread mayonnaise on top. Sprinkle with sugar, cheese and bacon.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Toss before serving.
