Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. pecans, chopped
    1 lb. dates, chopped
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. flour
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Mix flour with dates and nuts; add sugar.
    Melt butter and pour over mixture.
    Add well beaten egg yolks and vanilla.
    Fold in well beaten egg whites.
    Bake slowly in tube pan at 300\u00b0 to 320\u00b0 for 1 hour.
