Different Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh squash, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/4 stick margarine
    1 c. saltine crackers, crumbled
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. sharp cheese or Cheddar, grated
    1/4 c. mayonnaise
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Boil onion and squash in 1/2 cup water until tender.
    Season with mayonnaise, salt, pepper and margarine.
    Add eggs, cracker crumbs and cheese.
