Chocolate Chip Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    In a small saucepan, melt shortening and add sugar.
    Cool. Place in a mixing bowl.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add to batter (batter will be stiff).
    Turn into greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
    Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool.
    Yields 3 dozen.
