Ingredients

8 slices French bread, cut 3/4 inch thick
4 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. Grand Marnier or other favorite liqueur
Preparation

Arrange slices in a single layer so that they fit tightly into a shallow baking dish.
Beat all remaining ingredients together and pour the mixture over the bread.
Refrigerate overnight.
Next morning, grill slices on each side and serve with butter and maple syrup.
Serves 4.
