Ingredients

1/2 c. corn meal
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. oil
1 large or 2 medium onions
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Peel onions and slice into 1/4-inch rings.
Separate rings carefully.
Soak in milk 15 minutes.
Then drain rings.
Mix first 5 ingredients.
Stir and blend thoroughly.
Dip onion rings and fry in deep, hot oil until brown.
Drain on paper towels.
