Peppermint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb powder sugar
    3 tbsp butter soften
    2 to 3 tsp peppermint extract
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/4 cup evaporated milk
    2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp shortening
Preparation
    In bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients.
    Add milk and mix well.
    Roll into 1 - inch balls and place on wax paper lined cookie sheet. Chill for 20 minutes.
    Flatten with glass to 1/4 inch thickness.
    Chill for 30 minutes.
    In double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and shortening.
    Dip patties into chocolate and place on wax paper to harden.
    Yields about 5 dozen.
