Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    3 eggs, well beaten
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 box raisins
    1 c. nuts, cut up
    2 c. jam (I like blackberry jam; you can use 1 c. jam and 1 c. jelly)
Preparation
    Spray tube pan with nonstick cooking spray.
    Sift 2 1/2 cups flour, salt, cinnamon, cloves and soda together.
    Set aside.
    Whip together sugar, shortening and eggs.
    Add sifted ingredients. Take the other 1/2 cup of flour and mix with raisins and nuts. Add jam to cake mixture.
    Add applesauce and mix well.
    Fold in floured nuts and raisins.
    Put in tube pan and bake 2 hours at 300\u00b0.
