Whole Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
3 c. scalded milk or reconstituted dry milk and water, lukewarm
6 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
6 Tbsp. molasses or honey or brown sugar
    4 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in lukewarm water
    7 or 8 c. whole wheat flour
Preparation
    Place milk in large bowl.
Mix in shortening, molasses and salt.
    Add yeast mixture.
    Gradually mix in flour.
Let stand for 20 to 30 minutes, then knead for about 10 minutes or until smooth. Let rise until double in bulk in a greased bowl, covered with a damp cloth, about 1 1/2 hours at room temperature.
Knead lightly and form into loaves.
Makes 2 large or 3 small loaves.
    Put in well-greased pan.
Let rise until almost double (about 1 hour). Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes for small loaves, 50 minutes for larger loaves, or until done.
Can add raisins, if you like. Delicious.
