Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 egg
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add fat and egg.
    Pour boiling water over mixture and mix.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Drop by tablespoon on lightly greased skillet.
    Brown on one side, turn and brown. Serve hot with butter.
