Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 can cream style corn
    1/2 lb. grated cheese
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. bacon drippings
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 mild jalapeno peppers, chopped
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except cheese. Pour one half of the batter in large iron skillet which has been greased and heated; sprinkle cheese over batter. Add rest of batter and bake corn bread at 400\u00b0 until brown.
