Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 bag pea beans
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
    1/4 lb. bacon pieces
    16 oz. can tomatoes
    1/3 c. diced carrots
    3/4 c. diced celery
    3/4 c. diced onions
    1 c. diced potatoes
    black pepper, to taste
    garlic powder, to taste
    1/8 tsp. parsley
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    6 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. cold water
Preparation
    Add pea beans into large kettle.
    Add 1 gallon water and bring to a boil.
    Add 1 tablespoon baking soda and bring to boil.
    Drain and rinse with water.
    Put beans into large kettle and add bacon, tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, pepper and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender.
    Add cornstarch and flour to water.
    Mix until smooth.
    Add to soup until thickened to desired consistency.
