Raisin Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    3/4 c. raisins, steamed
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 large egg, beaten
    1 Tbsp. dark molasses
    a little vanilla
Preparation
    Mix
    well
    the\tflour, salt, sugar and shortening (with hands, keep 3/4 cup for
    top).
    Add
    raisins
    and\tnuts to the rest. Stir soda into
    buttermilk\tand
    add
    egg and molasses. Then blend in first mixture.
    Pour
    into 9-inch cake pan (well greased).
    Put the 3/4 cup crumbs\ton
    top
    and bake in a slow 325\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
    (Take
    a\tdouble portion for larger cake.)
