Garden Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large cucumbers
    2 large firm tomatoes
    1 large onion
    6 stalks celery
    1 large carrot
    1 large green bell pepper
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    salt and pepper
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Dice vegetables into small pieces.
    Place in large bowl and cover with 1 cup sugar.
    Let stand for 15 minutes.
    Add 1/2 cup vinegar and toss lightly.
    Salt, pepper and celery seed should be added last.
