Mendenhall Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar (not packed)
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda

Preparation

Mix sugar, butter or shortening, salt, flour and cinnamon. Save 1/4 cup crumbs for topping. Add egg. Mix soda with buttermilk. Beat into mixture. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Sprinkle with crumb topping. Also can add a few pecans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
