Poppy Cock - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 qt. popped popcorn
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 sticks butter or margarine
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. pecans (optional)
Preparation
    In a large, heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup.
    Bring to a boil; boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add baking soda, vanilla and salt; mix well.
    Mixture will foam up.
    Pour over popcorn and nuts, which have been put in 2 baking pans.
    Stir well to coat.
    Place in a 250\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes.
    Stir every 15 minutes.
    Keep in airtight container.
