Golden Glow Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. large cukes, peeled, seeds removed and cut in 1-inch pieces
    12 large onions, sliced thin
    3 green peppers, cut in small pieces or chunks
    3 red (hot) peppers, cut in small pieces or chunks
    1/2 c. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    1/4 c. mustard seed
    1/4 c. celery seed
    30 whole cloves
    7 c. sugar
    2 rounding tsp. turmeric powder
Preparation
    Sprinkle the salt over the first 4 ingredients and let stand for 3 hours. Heat the vinegar, mustard seed, celery seed, whole cloves, sugar and turmeric powder. When boiling hard, add drained cucumber mixture. Boil about 40 minutes. Seal in hot jars.
