Apricot Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 c. shredded coconut
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 jar apricot preserves
Preparation
    In large bowl, cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs; mix well. In separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
    Gradually add to butter mixture.
    Add coconut, walnuts and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Press 2/3 of dough into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Spread preserves on dough.
    Crumble remaining dough on preserves.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool and cut into squares.
