Vegetarian Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 green pepper, chopped
    3 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes
    1-2 tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    4 whole cloves
    1 bay leaf
    dash paprika
    dash cayenne (red) pepper
    2 cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
Preparation
    Cook onion and green pepper in hot oil.
    Add tomatoes and seasonings.
    Simmer, uncovered for 2 hours, adding water if necessary and stirring occasionally.
    Remove bay leaf and cloves and discard.
    Add beans and heat thoroughly.
    Add water as needed.
