Basic Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. milk
1/8 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Scald milk; mix dry ingredients together.
Add hot milk, stirring constantly.
Cook in a double boiler until smooth and thick, about 15 minutes.
Beat egg yolks slightly and add a small amount of hot mixture to them.
Add this quickly to remainder of hot mixture and cook 3 minutes longer.
Cool.
