German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon
    1/3 c. vinegar plus water to make 1/2 cup
    1 slightly beaten egg
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    5 c. cooked, sliced potatoes
    1/2 c. chopped onion
Preparation
    Boil potatoes whole until you can pierce with a fork.
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    Remove from pan.
    Combine 1/3 cup bacon drippings with next 5 ingredients.
    Heat and stir until thickened. Add potatoes, onion and the bacon, crumbled; toss and heat through.
    Serves 6.
