Strawberry Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1 pt. half and half
    1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 pt. strawberries, mashed
    red food coloring
    milk
Preparation
    Beat eggs at high speed of electric mixer until very thick (about 10 minutes).
    Lower mixer speed to medium and gradually beat in sugar.
    Stir in half and half, evaporated milk, vanilla and salt; mix well.
    Add strawberries and stir in food coloring to desired color.
    Pour mixture into container of a 1-gallon freezer. Fill to within 3 inches of top with milk.
    Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
    Let ripen at least 2 hours.
    Yields 1 gallon.
