Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 can red sour pitted cherries
    1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt butter in 8-inch square baking dish.
    Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and milk.
    Stir until smooth.
    Pour over the melted butter.
    Drain cherries and save liquid.
    Arrange cherries over the batter.
    Combine the 1/2 cup sugar with cherry juice and pour over the cherries.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
