Homemade Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. hot water
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    food coloring
    5 drops peppermint flavoring
Preparation
    Mix together sugar,
    Karo
    and hot water.
    Boil to soft ball stage.
    Pour into mixing bowl.
    Add cream of tartar, food coloring and
    flavoring.
    Beat
    until creamy.
    Drop onto waxed paper; swirl tops.
    Set
    in
    hot
    water
    if mixture gets stiff until able to work again.
