Orange Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 pkg. dates, cut
1 tsp. soda
1 c. broken pecan pieces
4 eggs
2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
4 c. all-purpose flour *

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add all-purpose flour in 3 parts alternately with buttermilk.
Add orange rind, dates and pecan pieces.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a preheated 325\u00b0 oven.
When cake is done, pour sauce for Orange Date Cake over it and allow cake to cool in pan.
