Old-Fashioned Rich Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
nutmeg to taste (about 1/4 tsp.)
1/3 c. milk
whipped cream
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar well and add egg.
Blend well; add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Turn into greased cake pan or heavy skillet (batter will be very stiff).
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Cool and split.
Spoon your favorite fruit or berries between layers and add whipped cream.
