Cheese Straws 1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. plain flour
    dash of cayenne pepper (if desired)
Preparation
    Grate cheese into large bowl and let stand at room temperature until softened.
    Add softened margarine.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix salt, pepper and flour.
    Gradually work into cheese/butter mixture. Blend until smooth.
    Using a cookie press, squeeze out cheese straws onto ungreased baking sheets.
    Cut into 2 to 3-inch lengths. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until crisp and golden.
    Do not allow to brown.
