Moist Supper Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. Dr. Pepper, heated to boiling
    1 c. quick cooking oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar, divided use
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/3 c. butter, melted
    1/4 c. light cream
    1 c. fine grated coconut
Preparation
    Pour hot Dr. Pepper over oatmeal and let stand 15 to 20 minutes.
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    With a mixer, cream shortening and gradually add in granulated sugar and 1 cup brown sugar.
    Cream well; add eggs, beating until mixture is fluffy.
