Mother'S Lemon Snow Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. butter (at room temperature)
    1 c. milk
    whites of 7 eggs (at room temperature)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift the sugar, flour and cornstarch before measuring.
    Then sift the measured cornstarch, flour, baking powder and salt together 4 times.
    Cream the butter thoroughly and add the sugar a little at a time, creaming it in well.
    Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.
    Beat the egg whites into stiff peaks. Fold into the creamed mixture.
    Pour into 3 greased and floured layer cake pans and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes.
    Cool in pans for 15 minutes.
    Remove from pans and finish cooling.
    Put the layers together with filling.
