Pineapple-Pecan Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can pineapple slices (undrained)
1/4 c. pecan halves
3 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
1 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt butter.
Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar.
Drain pineapple, reserving 1/3 cup pineapple juice.
Set juice aside. Arrange pineapple slices in single layer over brown sugar.
Place pecan half in center of each pineapple slice; set aside.
