Maple Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. maple extract
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. nuts, sliced
Preparation

Combine shortening, salt, vanilla and maple extract.
Blend. Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Sift flour and baking powder together 3 times.
Add small amount of flour to creamed mixture, alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Pour into two 8-inch greased cake pans.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes (about).
