Grandma Ruth'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. molasses
    2 3/4 c. flour
    3 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. buttermilk (1 c. milk with 1 tsp. vinegar)
Preparation
    Blend sugar, shortening and eggs.
    Stir in molasses.
    Add flour, ginger, salt, baking soda and cinnamon, alternating with buttermilk.
    Beat well.
    Spread in a greased, floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
