Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream together butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Add chocolate chips and nuts.
Mix well.
Drop from a teaspoon about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 375\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
