Tomato Grits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. whole milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. quick-cook grits
    1 stick plus 1 Tbsp. butter
    1/3 c. scallions, thinly sliced
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    2 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes with chilies
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Lightly grease shallow 2-quart baking dish.
