Taffy Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 egg, beaten
    20 oz. can pineapple chunks
    1 1/2 c. salted peanuts
    8 oz. Cool Whip
    3 medium apples, cored and chopped
    2 c. marshmallows
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    In a heavy bottom saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, egg and juice from pineapple.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
    Cool; stir in Cool Whip.
    In a large bowl, mix apples, pineapple chunks, marshmallows and peanuts.
    Toss with the dressing.
    Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
